Kim Clijsters

Kim Clijsters (8 June 1983) is a Belgian professional tennis player and a former world No. 1 in both singles and doubles. She won a total of 41 singles titles, including 4 Grand Slam titles: three at the US Open (in 2005, 2009, and 2010) and one at the Australian Open (in 2011). She was also runner-up in four Grand Slam singles tournaments. Clijsters won the WTA Tour Championships singles title three times: in 2002, in 2003, and in 2010. In 2001, she was part of the Belgium Fed Cup winning team. In June 2011, TIME magazine named her one of the "30 Legends of Women's Tennis: Past, Present and Future”. Clijsters was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame on 22 July 2017. Currently, she lives in Belgium with her husband Brian and three children Jada, Jack and Blake. In September 2019 Kim announces her second comeback to professional women’s tennis after a seven-year hiatus. After 20 months and being able to participate in five tournaments only due to COVID-19 and a knee injury, Kim decides to call it an and end. One last time.
